Welcome To ‘Parklane Montossori’ School
Montessori Education
A Montessori school is a school whose approach of learning is emphasized on active learning, independence, cooperation, and learning in harmony with each child’s unique pace of development.
Montessori defends the idea that children should be enabled to learn on their own in a set environment where they choose their own materials. A pre‐school environment set based on this principle includes Montessori materials on shelves to which pre‐school children can reach. The teacher after sets the learning environment, objectively only by organizing the materials from simple to complex. Teachers should be good observers and only intervene when the child requires guidance.

Classroom Facilities
All of our materials are selected to provide a variety of natural learning experiences for your infant through manipulation and sensory awareness. Language development is emphasized with planned and spontaneous opportunities for communication between the staff and the children.
Our Rooms & Classes
The curriculum provides for all areas of a child’s development including physical, social, emotional and cognitive. Curriculum planning is based on teacher’s observations and recordings of each child’s special needs, interests and developmental abilities.
Classroom environments are designed for the children to learn through active exploration and interaction with adults, peers and materials. Learning activities and materials are concrete, real and relevant to the lives of children.
Your Children
Children 18 months and older will have their own bed for naptime. The sheets are laundered each week.
Families are asked to furnish the following item for their toddler:
- toothbrush
- tooth paste (when requested)
- Kleenex (when requested)
- Diapers and wipes (if needed)
- Extra set of clothing Please be sure to label your child’s belongings
Communication
It is very important that we work together and communicate often so that I can best care for the needs of your child. Each day, when you drop off your child, you will be asked to sign in, and provide information, such as time your child last had a bottle, so that I can pick up where you left off and make the transition easier for your child. At the end of each day, you will receive a form that tells you all about your child’s day, an example of this sheet will be provided with your information packet.
Toys
Please do NOT send toys from home as they may get lost or broken. Books and CD’s/tapes that a child wishes to share with the class should be marked with the child’s name and given to the teacher. If your child’s class has a “sharing day” you will be notified. Toy guns and weapons are not allowed at Park Lane Montessori School at any time.
Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, you will be called, and if necessary, your child will be transported by car to the hospital registered with the school. If the emergency is very serious or urgent, we may need to call a Medical Practioneer before contacting you, but you will be reached as soon as possible. You will be responsible for the costs of all medical treatment necessary for your child’s well being.
Your children’s education and wellfare are our main priorities
